Men’s Christian Fellowship

Chapel Youth Fellowship

About Us

The Men’s Christian Fellowship (MCF), All Souls’ Chapel, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife was conceived by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. In 1980, then Rev. J. B. P. Lafinhan, intimated a select group of men in the Chapel on the burden he felt in his heart from the Holy Spirit on the urgent need of a virile men’s organization in the Chapel. The first gathering of this men’s association was held in the foyer of the Faculty of Agriculture (Agric foyer) on Sunday, January 11, 1981, after the Sunday service. In attendance were:

Objectives of the Fellowship

The three main objectives of the fellowship are:
1. That every member of the group ought to be intimately committed to the other socially.
2. Thatmembers of the group ought to be collectively involved in the growth and well-being of the All Souls’ Chapel. In particular, an immediate task that should be the concern of all is the building of the All Souls’ Chapel.
3. That, as a Christian group, we ought to have good and moral social interaction with the entire University Community.

MCF Anthem

Praise the Lord oh my soul
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord
Praise the Lord oh my soul.
The Lord is great the Lord is Good, He is worthy to be praised;
For His Greatness, for His Goodness,
For His Holiness and His Glory,
Let all men praise Him and rejoice in Him,
The King of kings.

We members of Men’s Christian Fellowship
Of All Souls’ Chapel of O. A. U.,
Do offer our usual sacrifice of praise
Unto You for Your great blessings.

Oh Lord give us the zeal and the courage,
To witness to Your name on Earth,
To obey Your words always,
That we may all be counted worthy
For the everlasting life.
Amen, Amen.
