The Men’s Christian Fellowship (MCF), All Souls’ Chapel, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife was conceived by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. In 1980, then Rev. J. B. P. Lafinhan, intimated a select group of men in the Chapel on the burden he felt in his heart from the Holy Spirit on the urgent need of a virile men’s organization in the Chapel. The first gathering of this men’s association was held in the foyer of the Faculty of Agriculture (Agric foyer) on Sunday, January 11, 1981, after the Sunday service. In attendance were:

Since this initial meeting, the Men’s Christian Fellowship has grown steadily over the years with membership increasing from the initial 16 members to 32 members on ground in Ile-Ife and 11 distant members across the country.
The three main objectives of the fellowship are:
1. That every member of the group ought to be intimately committed to the other socially.
2. Thatmembers of the group ought to be collectively involved in the growth and well-being of the All Souls’ Chapel. In particular, an immediate task that should be the concern of all is the building of the All Souls’ Chapel.
3. That, as a Christian group, we ought to have good and moral social interaction with the entire University Community.
