Lay Readers' Fellowship
The Lay Readers’ Fellowship is one of the Service Units in the Chapel. Members of the Fellowship are children of God with sole responsibility of reading the Holy Bible during the Service
The Lay Readers’ Fellowship came into existence at the inception of All Souls’ Chapel at the Upper Floor of Agric Foyer. The Fellowship was formed to assist the Chaplain in reading the Holy Scriptures during worship on Sundays and at occasional services in the Chapel. The members of the Fellowship also perform other functions as may be referred to the Fellowship, from time to time, by the Chaplain.
The sixteen (16) foundation members commissioned as Lay Readers by The Lord Bishop of Ekiti Diocese, Rt. Rev. J.A. Adetiloye on Sunday,17th day of May,1981 were; Dr.(Mrs) Bisi Durotoye, Mrs. S. A. Macaulay, Miss C.O. Oluwemimo, Mr. S.A. Adegoke, Mr. E.A. Akinsola, Mr. J.A. Akinbola, Mr. E.K. Marfo, Mr. B. Nwigwe, Dr. O.O.O. Odebiyi, Mr. A.C. Ojimelukwe, Mr. A. A. Okemgbo, Dr. M.A. Osunade and Dr.G.A. Oyedeji. These members contributed their own quota to the development of the Fellowship and the Chapel.
The second generation members were; Mrs E.M. Ojo, Prof. W.O.Odesanmi, Prof. S.K. Adesina, Prof. A. A. Olowu, Chief (Mrs) S.A. Adegbonmire, Mrs.F.A. Ayeni, Mrs. Bola Onabanjo, Dr. Segun Fadiran, Prof. T. A. Okusami, Prof.G.I.O. Olomola, Mr. A. I. Olowookere, Prof. (Mrs) J.O. Olusi, Prof. J. A. Owa, Mr. O.J. Boboye, Prof. E.B. Okunrotifa, Prof. S.A. Adeniran and Prof. O.A. Amire.
Other members of the Fellowship in recent past include; Prof. W.O. Odesanmi, Prof. A.A. Olowu, Prof.T. A. Okusami, Prof (Mrs). J.O.Olusi, Prof.J.A. Owa, Prof. S.B.Ojo, Mrs Tobi Adesina (Nee Adagunodo), Mrs.T.O. Adewale, Mrs. C.D. Adegoke, Mr. A. Akindahunsi and Mr. E.O. Adeyemi.
The past executives among the foundation members were; Mr. J.A. Akinbola (President), Mrs S.A. Macauley (Treasurer), Mr. S.A. Adegoke (Secretary). In the new dispensation, the past Presidents of the Fellowship in order were; Prof.W.O Odesanmi, Prof. S.K. Adesina, Prof. A.A Olowu and Elder A.I. Olowookere. Other past executive members were; Prof. T.A Okusami (Secretary), Prof (Mrs). J. O. Olusi (Treasurer), Prof. J. A. Owa (Treasurer), Prof. S.B. Ojo (Secretary).

Membership of Lay Readers’ Fellowship is opened to devoted members of All Souls’ Chapel who are interested in ministration through the readings of the Scripture. A new member will be inducted into the Lay Readers’ Fellowship after a period of tutelage not less than three months.
Members of the Fellowship meet every first Sunday of the month between 8.a.m and 9.a.m. in the Sunday School Complex for praise worship and bible study and discussions on issues pertaining to the Fellowship and the Chapel.
