STAFF CONDITIONS OF SERVICE, SCHEDULE OF DUTIES AND ORGANOGRAM OF THE ALL SOULS’ CHAPEL, OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY, ILE-IFE, NIGERIA

(As amended and approved at the Extraordinary Congregational Meeting of Sunday, 26th October, 2014)

1.0 APPOINTMENT POLICY AND PROCEDURE



1.1 Appointment of Staff

The power to appoint (including the power to promote) staff of the Chaplaincy to all posts on the workforce of the Chapel and of disciplinary control, shall be vested in the Chapel Council. The Council may delegate its powers of selection and recommendation to a Committee consisting of members of the Council and the Chapel Congregation. The composition of such Committee, its functions and procedure and other matters relative to it shall be such as may be determined by the Council.

1.1.1 Types of Appointment

Officers on appointment in All Souls’ Chapel, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife may be on the following terms:

i) Contract Appointment – This refers to the Chaplain and the Assitant Chaplain whose appointment is on contract and will later return to their Church after their tenure.

ii) Regular Staff – This includes the list of other staff of the Chapel who are on the payroll, different from the Casual workers who are engaged from time to work for the Chapel.

iii) Casual Staff – These are workers engaged casually to satisfy some urgent needs.
For the avoidance of doubt, this Conditions of Service and Schedule of Duties is prepared i-ii in view

1.1.2 Advertisement and Vacancies

Where there is vacancy, a prima facie case for internal placement is established and the positions will be advertised. Shortlisted of candidates for interview shall be done by a Search Committee constituted by the Chapel Council. The Chapel Council shall also constitute a panel to interview the shortlisted candidates.
